Ekal Sangini’s 3rd Edition: A Successful Lifestyle Exhibition for a Noble Cause

Kolkata, (West Bengal) 23 October 2024: Ekal Sangini proudly hosted its third edition of a unique lifestyle exhibition, organized by the Friends of Tribals Society (FTS) – Mahila Samity, along with its youth wing, at Taj Bengal, Kolkata. FTS, one of India’s largest NGOs, has been dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities since 1989 and currently operates through 38 chapters across the country, encompassing 37 Mahila Samities and 8 Sah Samities.

The exhibition was inaugurated by actress and Mrs. India International, Richa Sharma, and saw the attendance of several eminent personalities, including renowned matchmaker Seema Taparia, dance educationist and choreographer Alokananda Roy, director Raajorshee De, motivational speaker Naina More, luxury style curator Chikky Goenka, model Madhabilata Mitra, fashion designer Kommal Sood, and musician Gaurab Chatterjee (Gaboo).

Mrs. Pushpa Mundra, Vice President of Kolkata FTS, expressed her gratitude, stating, “Our mission is to uplift communities through education. This exhibition not only showcases exquisite fashion but also raises funds for the bright futures of children in rural India. I extend my deepest gratitude to our stall holders, visitors, influencers, guests, sponsors, and the entire FTS team for being integral to our mission. Their generosity has been crucial in enabling us to make a significant impact on the lives of those we serve. With this kind of support, we are confident we can achieve even greater heights and touch the lives of many more in need.”

The Ekal Sangini exhibition served as an exclusive platform, bringing together prominent designers from the fashion industry while promoting FTS’s mission. The funds raised will directly support the education of rural children studying in Ekal Vidyalayas, which are run by FTS in remote villages across India. The event featured over 50 luxury brands, showcasing a spectacular array of fashion and lifestyle products. Notable participants included Surana Jewellery, KCC Gallery Store of Emami Group, Ibiss, Enaya, Ksanduk, Aarju Jain, and Laxmi Jewellers.

The organizing committee played a pivotal role in the success of the exhibition, including Pushpa Mundra, Pratibha Binani, Nilam Patwari, Ritu Agarwal, Subhash Murarka, Kiran Saraogi, Shanta Sarda, Savita Agarwala, Sushma Vijay, Chetna Kauntia, Vishakha Kajaria, Abhay Kejriwal, Rohit Bucha, and other senior members of the organization.

The event also received strong support from several corporate sponsors, including Willowood Chemical Pvt. Ltd., Century Plyboards (India) Ltd., Skipper Limited, Manaksia Limited, Anmol Industries Ltd., and Tropical Agrosystem (India) Private Ltd., all contributing generously to the noble cause.
